Fantastic metal smithing workshop

Just finished a metal smithing workshop and it was incredible! The instructors were so talented and helpful. The studio was perfectly set up with everything you could need. I learned so much in just one week. The food was tasty, and the lodging was comfy. I'm already planning my next visit; I want to try a glass beadmaking class next. Highly recommend Snow Farm for anyone wanting to learn a new craft!

Loved the glassblowing class

Went for a glassblowing class and had a blast! I'd never done anything like it before, but the instructors were super patient and made it really fun. The studio was amazing, so many cool tools. The food was surprisingly good, not like typical camp food at all. I stayed in the dorms, and they were clean and comfy. Met some cool people too. Definitely want to go back and try another workshop, maybe woodworking next time. It was a really great week.

Great ceramics workshop experience

I recently attended a ceramics workshop at Snow Farm, specifically the 'Introduction to Wheel Throwing' week-long immersion. The online registration process was straightforward, and I appreciated the clear breakdown of what was included (tuition, materials, lodging, meals). Confirmation emails were prompt. Arrival at the campus was easy, and the staff at check-in were very helpful. The studio facilities were excellent, well-maintained, and had all the tools needed. My instructor was knowledgeable and patient, providing individual feedback. The lodging was comfortable, and the meals were surprisingly good for institutional dining, with vegetarian options available. Overall, it was a very positive learning experience, and I felt I gained a solid foundation in the craft. My only small point of feedback would be that the Wi-Fi in the dorms was a bit spotty at times, but that's a minor detail given the focus on craft.

Good value, some class size issues

I took a weekend craft retreat focusing on jewelry making. The workshop content was solid, and the instructor clearly knew their stuff. I thought the tuition was a fair price for the instruction and materials included. Booking online was easy enough. My main critique would be the class size; it felt a little crowded in the studio, which meant less one-on-one time with the instructor than I had hoped for. The food was decent, but the dining hall could get quite loud. On the positive side, the campus environment was really inspiring, and it was great to be surrounded by other creative people. I would likely attend another workshop, but I'd probably look for one with a smaller advertised student-to-teacher ratio next time.

do they ever do sales or discount codes? trying to convince my partner to go with me but it's a bit pricey.

D David R. 2 weeks ago
They don't really do 'sales' like a store. Mostly it's early bird discounts if you sign up super early, or scholarships if you qualify. No promo codes usually.

I got a little off for registering way ahead of time for my woodworking class. Like $50 or $100 bucks, not a huge amount but every bit helps. Also, they have a work-study program if you're open to that!

Thinking about a glassblowing class. How long are the workshops usually, like a weekend or a whole week thing?

S Sofia T. 1 week ago
It really depends on the workshop you pick. Some are just a weekend intensive, others are full week-long immersions. They list the duration on each workshop page.

Yeah, I did a ceramics one last fall and it was 5 days, super intense but awesome. My friend did a weekend intro to glass. Just check the specific class description.
